More will follow on the Museum of Bristol. Enthusiastic as I am about institutions of culture, the report given to the City Cabinet on 15th November did not instill a sense of confidence.
Things that make me nervous?
- 66 inter connected work packages.
- Multiple different funding organisations with a finger in the pie.
- A contingency fund of only 5% for the renovation of a listed site.
- A rushed approval process to get to the 7th January 2008 start date.
- A disregard for the risks, and an emphasis on the potential visitors.
