This image - © David Barlow - was taken with a Nikon Coolpix E4300 digital camera, with Remote Cable release, screwed to a Universal Digitising Bracket fixed to a pair of Revelation Astro binoculars 25 x 100, all sat on a sturdy tripod.

(Oh, and a Celestron Lunar Filter stuck with Blu Tack to the bino eyepiece.)

For the harcore photography geek - Spot metering took care of the automatic exposure, camera settings were ISO-100, 1/7 sec at f/4.9
