OK, so I’ve just been watching the BNP Euro Election address on the telly. I’ve got better things to do with my time than “fisk” it in detail – no doubt others will have a go. Ultimately, I just don’t believe them when they say they don’t have underlying racial/racialist intentions. For all that the claim to be “just socialists” fundamentally I still think they’re “national socialists”.
Whereas representatives of other political parties have of late been shown to be venal, duplicitous and incompetent, the BNP consistently display criminality and violence as well as being venal, duplicitous and incompetent. Just google “BNP councillor arrested” for a summary of the more egregious cases.
I will pick up on one point though. About half way through the video, current BNP obergruppenfuhrer Nick Griffin talks about the names of Britain’s war dead carved on memorials, to a backdrop of graves maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. (Can you see where I’m going with this? There’s a hint in the name):
In the end, the answer to the question “by what right should native britons be put first?” can be seen on every war memorial in the country. Just think with me for a moment of all those names carved on those cold, sad slabs of stone. English names, Scottish names, Irish names, Allied British names. Nobody else’s.
What about this one, Nick?
This unknown soldier was a Sikh. The records of thirty nine of his brethren can be seen in the database of the Commonwealth Graves Commission
Or this one. What about this one, Nick?
This soldier of the Gurkha Rifles died in World War I.
This unknown soldier from West Africa doesn’t have a name on his grave.
Any thoughts on this chap, Nick?
Do I need to keep going, or are you getting the point?
