BBC’s The Restaurant

Honestly, you can’t even go out for a quick bite to eat these days without tripping over a camera crew.

The BBC are filming a third season of apprentice-for-foodies series “The Restaurant” (which I must confess I’ve never seen). And one of the contestants is an Antipodean (update: he's from Melbourne) bloke running “The Summer House” on Whiteladies Road; which until January of this year was Deason’s

I feel some sympathy for the sound man, trying to record interviews using a huge boom microphone, with bikes, cars and buses revving past.

About £20 per head for food and drinks. Lovely potted rabbit, big Waldorf salad (grapes instead of apples). Lamb Kebabs nicely pink. Service a bit slow; had to remind them to take my cheque.
